My Generation - Breaking Barriers

The Project

‘My Generation’ is an intergenerational cohesion project that aimed to overcome barriers between young & old. 20 young people aged 11-18 from the Hall Green constituency of Birmingham & 10 OAPs from a local care home were brought together to create 6 mini-performances exploring 4 key themes.

Those themes were:

  • Relationships

  • Politics

  • Sport

  • Community

How the project works

Volunteers aged 18-25 will be trained to help deliver the project. Our young participants will then be taught the basics of drama, before working with our more ‘mature’ participants.

PROject on hold

Due to Covid-19, unfortunately the project has been put on hold. After completing training with our young people and volunteers, we are now hoping to finish the project towards the end of 2021.

Funded by the NAtional Lottery Community Fund

We were fortunate to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to run this project. Having worked with them a number of times throughout the years, this was another exciting opportunity to do something incredible!

We thank them for their support and look forward to working with them again in the future.
